Ashley Marie Massaro1 (born May 26, 1979)1 is an American model and semi-retired professional wrestler best known for her work with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). She first joined WWE after winning the Raw Diva Search 2005. After an initial rivalry with Vince's Devils, an alliance of female villains, Massaro became the valet for the WWE Tag Team Champions Paul London and Brian Kendrick. Her most high profile matches were a WWE Women's Championship match against Melina Perez at WrestleMania 23 and a Playboy Bunnymania Lumberjack match at WrestleMania XXIV. She left WWE in mid-2008 to care for her sick daughter.
Prior to joining WWE, Massaro was Miss Hawaiian Tropic USA in 2002 and Miss Hawaiian Tropic Canada. Ashley Massaro came to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in June 2005 as a contestant in the 2005 Raw Diva Search. After beating the seven other chosen finalists, Massaro was declared the winner on the August 15, 2005 edition of Raw. She won the $250,000 Diva Search contest which included the $250,000 and a one year contract with WWE.15 Massaro made her first WWE appearance as an official WWE Diva on the August 21, 2005 pre-SummerSlam edition of Heat where she conducted interviews with the fans, The Fabulous Moolah, and Mae Young. Later that night, Massaro made her first appearance at a pay-per-view event when she joined the other bikini-clad divas in washing Mr. McMahon's presidential limo backstage.
The following night on Raw, Candice Michelle and Torrie Wilson called out Massaro, claiming they wanted to welcome her to Raw. After Massaro came out, Candice and Wilson became villains and started attacking Massaro.6 Massaro continued to feud with the two divas who were soon joined by Victoria. Victoria later defeated Massaro in her in-ring debut match.7 Ashley was later joined by the returning Trish Stratus, who helped Massaro fend off attacks from the three Divas. The pair defeated the trio, who became known as the Ladies in Pink (and later Vince's Devils) on several occasions including at Unforgiven and at WWE Homecoming in a 3-on-2 Bra and Panties match.8 Massaro continued to wrestle matches through the rest of 2005 and was involved in the annual Fulfill Your Fantasy Diva Battle Royal at Taboo Tuesday for her first shot at the WWE Women's Championship. Massaro eliminated Candice Michelle before being eliminated by Victoria. One of her biggest wins was at New Year's Revolution when Massaro won the first ever Bra and Panties Gauntlet match by being the final Diva left still wearing her clothes.9 Following WWE tradition, to please the fans, she removed them herself before making her exit.9
Through the early part of 2006, Massaro became the victim of a series of attacks from a jealous Mickie James.10 At the Royal Rumble, Mickie defeated Ashley with then Women's Champion, Trish Stratus, as the special guest referee.11 Massaro got her revenge one week later by pinning James in the rematch on Raw.12 During the February 20, 2006 edition of Raw, however, Massaro suffered a fractured left fibula while being eliminated from the Women's Battle Royal,13 and her feud with James was cut short.10 She underwent the procedure to have a plate positioned in her leg in March 2006. During her recovery, Massaro still occasionally appeared on Raw as part of the Stratus/James feud, albeit in a non-active role.10
She returned to television on June 2, now on SmackDown!, as a special guest commentator during the Kristal Marshall versus Jillian Hall match.14 Ashley immediately aligned herself with Hall as they feuded with Michelle McCool and Marshall. She won her debut match on the July 21 edition of SmackDown!, where she teamed up with Hall and defeated McCool and Marshall.15 At The Great American Bash, Massaro won the Fatal Four-Way Bra and Panties match by removing all of her opponents clothing.16 On the August 4 edition of SmackDown!, Massaro broke her knuckle in a match against Kristal Marshall.1718

Ashley Massaro returned to the ring on the September 8, 2006 edition of SmackDown! where she, Paul London, and Brian Kendrick defeated Idol Stevens, K.C. James and Michelle McCool in a Six-Person Mixed Tag Team match.19 Following the victory, Ashley became the valet for London and Kendrick, accompanying them to the ring for their matches on SmackDown! and pay-per-views.10
During the February 16, 2007 edition of SmackDown!, Ashley unveiled her Playboy cover.20 Surrounding the release of the magazine, Ashley engaged in a feud with Jillian Hall over who was the most talented Diva on SmackDown! and Halls' jealousy over Ashley's Playboy cover. At No Way Out, Ashley won the first ever Diva Invitational by removing her top to reveal her breasts which were covered with Playboy bunny pasties.21 Surrounding the release of the cover, Ashley continued to feud with Hall, but also began a feud with then WWE Women's Champion, Raw's Melina, who was angry over the publicity Massaro had been receiving because of the cover.22 On an episode of SmackDown!, the rivalry was taken to the next level when a catfight broke out between the Divas on the inaugural edition of Miz TV.22 At WrestleMania 23, Melina defeated Massaro in a LumberJill match to retain her title.1023
After WrestleMania, Massaro continued as a valet for WWE Tag Team Champions Paul London and Brian Kendrick. In storyline, on the April 13 episode of SmackDown!, Massaro was attacked by Jillian Hall.24 In reality, Massaro had loosened a screw in her ankle that needed to be surgically repaired by being reinserted into a plate in her ankle, which was inserted last year after she legitimately fractured her tibia and fibula while in a battle royal.25 Massaro returned a couple months later seeking revenge on Hall for injuring her. Her return was short lived when on the June 8 edition of SmackDown!, Massaro was suspended indefinitely after accidentally spilling Mr. McMahon's coffee on him.26 In reality, Ashley was taking time off to participate on the show Survivor.10
Ashley returned on January 7, 2008 to the Raw brand, winning a Divas Lingerie Pillow Fight against Maria, Jillian Hall, Melina, and Mickie James.27 Massaro replaced Candice Michelle, who was out with an injury, in the Playboy Bunnymania Lumberjack match at WrestleMania XXIV alongside Maria, losing to Beth Phoenix and Melina. Massaro also participated in a 12 Diva Tag Team match at Backlash, but her team lost.10 Massaro was released from her WWE contract on July 9, 2008.28 A week prior to her release, she announced that she had asked to be let go from her contract due to her daughter being sick.10

Massaro was a contestant on CBS's Survivor: China.229 She claims that she approached WWE with the idea of doing the show, and after going through the casting process, she found out she made the show ten days before she had to leave for China to film it.30 Prior to the experience, Massaro had never been camping before, so to train for the show she had to get used to being outside.30 She was assigned to the Zhan Hu tribe in the first episode, and started to annoy her tribe members with her constant quarreling with fellow contestant Dave Cruser. In the second episode, Massaro was voted off after six days in China in a 6–1 vote.
Modeling and acting
She has competed in Miss Hawaiian Tropic pageants and was crowned Miss Hawaiian Tropic USA in 2002 and Miss Hawaiian Tropic Canada in August 2004.32 She has appeared in FHM, Stuff, Maxim, and on the cover of Playboy after joining WWE, though she had previously posed for Playboy under the name Ryan Mackenzie. In February 2007, Ashley and Kane filmed an episode of the CW's Smallville that aired on March 22, 2007.2 In April 2007, Ashley also appeared as a guest on Fuse TV's show The Sauce.312 On April 20, 2007, Ashley, Torrie Wilson, Maryse, Brooke, Layla El and Kelly Kelly filmed Timbaland's video, "Throw It on Me" featuring The Hives.32 In 2008, she appeared in Rev Theory's video for "Hell Yeah."33

In May 2008, Rolling Stone reported that Massaro was employed by a Los Angeles escort agency.36 The Federal Bureau of Investigation confirmed it was investigating the agency, but it did not address Massaro's relation to them.37 On her MySpace page, Massaro said she was "beyond upset" and urged fans "don't believe it for a second."38
She has several tattoos, including a black & pink nautical star on the back of both of her elbows; a pink and red dragon surrounding kanji lettering that translates to 'Trust No One' going down the side of her right torso; kanji symbols on the small of her lower back; and a butterfly on her right hip. She also has several piercings, most notably a 'Monroe' and 'Snakebites' on her lips.
