Catherine Britt (born 31 December 1984 in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia) is a country music artist who has had success in both her native Australia and in the United States. She moved to Nashville, Tennessee, United States in 2004, and has charted several singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts in the U.S., in addition to releasing four studio albums in her native Australia. Her highest charting single, "The Upside of Being Down", peaked at #36 on the country music charts in 2004.

Musical career

In 1999, Catherine independently released her debut EP, In The Pines. She was signed to ABC Country and recorded her first album, Dusty Smiles and Heartbreak Cures, in 2002. In 2004, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee and was soon signed to RCA Nashville. Her American debut single, "The Upside of Being Down", peaked at #36 that year. She has been dropped from their roster without releasing an album in the U.S.1
